Apple Cider Vinegar - Benefits

What is Apple Cider Vinegar?

Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) is an effective natural bacteria-fighting agent that contains many vital minerals and trace elements such as potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorous, chlorine, sodium, sulfur, copper, iron, silicon and fluorine that are vital for a healthy body.

Natural Apple Cider Vinegar is made by crushing fresh, organically grown apples and allowing them to mature in wooden barrels. This boosts the natural fermentation qualities of the crushed apples, which differs from the refined and distilled vinegars found in supermarkets. When the vinegar is mature, it contains a dark, cloudy, web-like bacterial foam called mother, which becomes visible when the rich brownish liquid is held to the light. The mother can be used to add to other vinegar to hasten maturity for making more Apple Cider Vinegar. Natural vinegars that contain the mother have enzymes and minerals that other vinegars in grocery stores may not have due to over-processing, over-heating, and filtration. For this reason, it is recommended that you purchase only Natural Apple Cider Vinegar, with an ideal acidity (pH) level of 5 to 7.

Below are a few of the uses of Apple Cider Vinegar....

Acne

Apple Cider Vinegar is a natural cure for acne.

Age Spots

Apple Cider Vinegar contains sulfur that fights the effects of aging, which makes it suitable for treating age spots.

Cellulite

Many women have found that Apple Cider Vinegar can help reduce the appearance of cellulite.

Diabetes

Apple Cider Vinegar may help to control high blood sugar levels, which is why it is often used as a natural treatment for Diabetes.

Natural Hair - Bentonite Clay Hair Mask

For the past 4 weeks I have been co-washing my hair weekly.   So, I decided to do a natural deep cleansing on my hair.

Cleansing is an essential part of a regimen to remove product build-up but using shampoo can strip the moisture we already struggle to retain. Using a mud wash (Bentonite Clay) clarifies while leaving your hair conditioned and moisturized.

Bentonite Clay can be used for facials, acne, body wraps, clay baths, and foot soaks.  It's 100% calcium absorbs and removes toxins, heavy metals, impurities and chemicals.

Look at the pictures below which shows my hair before, during, and after applying  Bentonite Clay.

My Ingredients

1 cup Bentonite Clay
Aloe Vera Juice (you can use water or Apple Cider Vinegar)
EVOO - Extra Virgin Olive Oil (optional)
Tea Tree Oil (optional)

After washing out the clay I did a (DC) deep condition, sat under the dryer for 30 to 45 minutes, applied my leave in then style.

T.G.I.F. - Hair Tip!

Breakage, split ends, fried hair, dyed hair, and more this is something that can be very hard to repair .

The good thing is there are remedies to fixing damaged hair:

Damage hair can be turned into healthy hair with proper care and products to aid.

  • Breakage caused by the friction of brush bristles rubbing against the cuticle, you should keep the cuticle smooth and intact by coating damp or dry hair from the mid-shaft to the ends with serum.
  • Split ends this happens when the cuticle at the ends of the hair shaft wears away.  The remedy is to trim and apply a product to the ends.  For instance, glycerin or hyaluronic acid, both bond the ends together.
  • Fried hair if you are using heating tools at 200f, the water inside each hair will start to boil and the hair blisters eventually break.  To repair this set the styling tool to low and use shampoo and conditioner that will hydrate your hair's most fragile spot like the ends.
  • Dyed hair this strip natural pigments and create tears that make hair porous and weak.  The remedy is once a week use a deep conditioner protein treatment to coat the cuticle and fill in the hollow areas.

Breakage!!!!

Hair breakage can be a serious problem whether or not you're trying to attain length. If your hair is breaking off faster than it's growing, it may seem like your hair isn't growing at all. Unless you have a medical condition, your hair is growing, but retaining length is important for seeing this growth.

"Solutions for dry, breaking ends include regular deep conditioning, daily conditioning with moisturizing treatments, using a comb with teeth wide enough to work through your hair (particularly natural hair) and easing up on heat styling."

5 tips to help with breakage....
  • Trim your ends
  • Protein treatment
  • Don't brush your hair while wet
  • Stop Overlapping chemicals
  • Ease up on heat....High heat = damage = breakage. Frequent heat = damage = breakage
